When I think about H.O.P.E. Ministry of Pointe Coupee, Inc., the chorus of The Missionary Hymn sung at my church (St. Peter A.M.E. Church) comes to mind. It states, “This is my mission. This is my prayer, helping the needy everywhere.”
I feel so blessed being a part of an organization that is so giving. I have been a member of the H.O.P.E. Ministry Board of Directors for one and a half years. This ministry gives time, advice, and hope to so many families in the New Roads area.
H.O.P.E. Ministry is mainly known for its food pantry, which is able to help clients in the New Roads area, but the organization also helps families with uniforms for kids, emergency rent/ utilities assistance and emergency medical assistance.
A great example of H.O.P.E.’s giving was during the August 2016 flood. H.O.P.E. Ministry was able to provide food, clothing, and funds for a safe place to stay for many. Because of our efforts, H.O.P.E. has been utilizing its resources at a larger capacity. That is why I am so grateful and happy that God blessed us to have a great fundraiser on April 8, 2017. A Night of HOPE: Praise and Worship Experience truly was a night of inspiration.
It is said that it takes a village to raise a child. It took a village to put this amazing extravaganza together, giving the entire honor to God. As chairperson of the concert, I would like to give special thanks and God’s blessings to our program sponsors, all the participants, our Executive Director Delores Hurst, who is doing a wonderful job leading H.O.P.E. Ministry, HOPE’s Board members, First Baptist Church of New Roads, and the Pointe Coupee community.
To God be the glory for the things He is doing and the things He will do for the people of Pointe Coupee through H.O.P.E. Ministry of Pointe Coupee, Inc.
